The CEDES Foundation will inaugurate the exhibition «Fantastic Animals» in Zaragoza from June 10 to 28, 2025, showcasing 40 wooden sculptures created by young people with disabilities, highlighting the importance of inclusion and personal development through art.
The works, made with recycled pallet wood and tree branches, are the result of a collaborative process. Students from the Transition to Adult Life course designed sketches based on real and fantastic animals, using screws and nails for the finishing details.
The project has allowed participants to develop technical skills with various tools, while also fostering teamwork and student motivation, acting as a tool for inclusion and personal development through artistic expression.
The artists, young people aged 18 to 21 with intellectual disabilities and/or autism, are in a training process focused on their autonomy, showcasing their creative abilities through this exhibition.
This project aligns with the mission of the CEDES Foundation, which has been promoting the inclusion and personal development of people with functional diversity for over 25 years. The exhibition aims to highlight the creative capacities of young people beyond the realm of assistance.
The exhibition at the Joaquín Roncal Center represents an artistic achievement and a testament to inclusive educational processes. Organizers emphasize the excitement of participants when seeing their works publicly displayed.
