Defense Minister Margarita Robles visited the U.S. Military Academy at West Point on October 27, 2026, where she met with its superintendent, Lt. Gen. James B. Bartholomees, and learned about the institution’s military education and training model.
During the visit, Robles met with the six Spanish cadets completing part of their training at West Point. Their stay is part of an exchange program with Zaragoza’s General Military Academy, a partnership that directly links the two officer-training institutions.
The minister toured the facilities and had lunch with the Spanish students to learn about their academic and personal experiences. Spain’s Ministry of Defense places the program within the framework of military education cooperation between Spain and the United States.
