This morning, in the space of the Ámbito Cultural del Corte Inglés of Paseo Independencia in Zaragoza, Alfredo Cortés (Ceo of GoAragón) presented the GoAragón school journalism contest that seeks to find the best journalists in each of its categories. During the presentation, Gloria Pérez (Director of the Directorate General of Tourism of Aragón), Mónica Martín (Head of Business and Employment Training at CPA Salduie) and Isabel Paricio (Director of Communications at El Corte Inglés Zaragoza) also took part in the event. An opportunity for the school community to become familiar with journalism, information management and new technologies, as well as to develop their exposure, writing and creativity skills.

The initiative arises from GoAragón’s commitment to the Aragonese community to create a positive impact on it and promote all that it has to offer. “We want the children of Aragon to get to know our land so that they can then become ambassadors for it,” says GoAragon CEO Alfredo Cortes. The action is part of the framework of responsible actions with Aragon of the digital newspaper for which it received the RSA Aragon seal and is part of the circular Aragon project. “We have to travel around Aragon, we have a beautiful inland territory that must be valued, an infinity of resources that are declared World Heritage by UNESCO and we have to encourage students to travel with their families around Aragon,” says the Director of the Directorate General of Tourism of Aragon Gloria Perez.

The call revolves around the category Aragon Tourism in response to the question ‘What is your favorite corner of Aragon?’ and will be open to students of the autonomous community of Aragon from kindergarten to high school and vocational training from December 1, 2022. “We want young people from all over Aragon to experience our land, to know with family, friends or school a corner, an experience, and then they can move it with a photograph or an essay, “says the Director of Communication of the Corte Ingles Zaragoza Isabel Paricio. The project has the collaboration of the Directorate General of Tourism of Aragon, El Corte Ingles and the CPA Salduie and is organized by GoAragon, Alfredo Cortes Consultants, with the cooperation of Jevas SC and the Hotel Casa Del Infanzón.

The contest consists of five categories: Children, Special Education, Youth, Most visited article on the GoAragón website and Photo – Journalism. The participants from the different educational centers will have until March 31, 2023 to submit their articles, photographs and videos, in RRSS format, on the website https://inscripcion.goaragon.es/ and on April 21, 2022, 8 prizes will be awarded to the winners, including a weekend for three people in Sos del Rey Católico at the Hotel Casa del Infanzón, a charming accommodation in one of the most beautiful villages of Aragón.

The best articles and photographs selected in each category will be published on the newspaper’s website and the winners will receive a prize on April 21, 2023 from El Corte Inglés. In addition, the photographs selected for the Best Photo – Journalism category will be exhibited in December 2023 in the Ámbito Cultural space of El Corte Inglés on Paseo Independencia in Zaragoza. Another of the most outstanding awards is a photography workshop exclusively for them that will be held by the CPA Salduie, in which 8 selected photographers will participate.

“This contest is the perfect excuse to give viability to young talent and our land. A fusion between creativity and charming corners” says Monica Martin, Head of business and job training at CPA Salduie.

About GoAragón

Go Aragón is a platform for the international diffusion of Aragon that was created with the aim of raising awareness of the autonomous region and help generate wealth in it. It currently has a website in Spanish, one in English, the main social networks, an app and other websites designed for international dissemination, specifically within the EU, French-speaking countries and China.

The platform is conceived and designed to bring together the contents of different organizations, and that while the reader is informed of an attractive experience, you can make the reservation, without having to go to search on another website. Soon a booking engine for accommodation in the community will be indexed, and thus facilitate the process for people who want to visit and spend the night in Aragon and a booking engine for restaurants in the community. Likewise, the booking of all those tourist, gastronomic or cultural activities offered in the different provinces and to which ‘goAragón’ disseminates will also be favored.
