Aragon makes a strong presentation at the 39th Salón Gourmets, held at IFEMA Madrid, under the brand «Aragón, Sabor de Verdad». With a stand that brings together 17 companies from the agri-food sector, the community demonstrates its capacity for innovation and international projection.
Institutional Representation and Objectives
The acting Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food, Javier Rincón, along with the Director General of Innovation and Food Promotion, Amparo Cuéllar, visited the Aragonese stand on April 14th. Rincón emphasized the importance of the Salón Gourmets as a key platform for increasing the visibility of Aragonese products both in the national and international markets, reinforcing the image of Aragon as a territory of quality and authenticity.
Diversity of the Agri-Food Offer
The 300 square meter space of the Aragonese stand stands out for its diversity of products, including wines with designation of origin from the CRDO Campo de Borja, IGP Ternasco de Aragón meat, extra virgin olive oils from Somontano, traditional meat preparations, truffles, sturgeons from Sarrión, and artisanal pastries. Additionally, another 18 agri-food companies from the region are participating with their own stands, showcasing the wealth and variety of the sector.
Economic Impact of the Agri-Food Sector
The agri-food sector is vital for the Aragonese economy, representing approximately 15% of the regional GDP and generating more than 55,000 jobs. In 2025, exports reached 3.5 billion euros. Amparo Cuéllar highlighted the importance of public-private collaboration to enhance competitiveness, support businesses, and promote innovation and internationalization within the sector.
The Salón Gourmets is a benchmark event that brings together more than 2,000 exhibitors and 110,000 professional visitors from over 90 countries, establishing itself as the leading European fair for high-quality food and beverages. Aragon’s participation in this event underscores its commitment to the quality and international expansion of its agri-food products.
