Aragón Shines at Transfiere 2026 as a Leader in Science and Innovation

Aragón positions itself as a benchmark in science and innovation during its participation in Transfiere 2026, the most prominent event in Europe in this field, held in Málaga. With a robust representation of research and development institutions, the autonomous community demonstrates its capacity to lead cutting-edge scientific and technological projects.

A diverse and collaborative representation

The Aragonese delegation at Transfiere 2026 consists of 13 entities that encompass a wide spectrum of the R&D+i ecosystem. Among them are AITIIP, ARAID, CEFCA, CITA, FHA, IACS, IAF, INMA, ITA, LMA, LSC, UNIZAR, and USJ. These institutions represent the diversity and potential of Aragón in areas such as biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and advanced materials.

The presence of these entities reinforces the territory’s strength in innovation and its ability to establish strategic collaborations, both nationally and internationally. This collaborative approach is key to promoting the development of emerging technologies and strengthening the region’s competitiveness.

Notable innovations and projects

During the event, Aragonese institutions present a series of innovative projects that highlight their leadership in various technological areas. CITA stands out with its kombucha beverage and the edible packaging EDITRUFF, while ITA showcases its prototype Sensory Table with artificial intelligence. CEFCA, for its part, introduces the OPTIMIA demonstrator, which applies AI to enhance scientific processes.

Other noteworthy projects include the H2XR virtual reality experience from the Hydrogen Foundation of Aragón, the advanced microscopy techniques from LMA, and the PALELOCAL project from the University of Zaragoza. Additionally, USJ presents its patents in computing and video games, and INMA showcases its research in nanoscience. ARAID concludes with the BMRex project, focused on the elimination of microplastics.

Strategic impact and collaboration opportunities

Pilar Gayán, Director General of Science and Research, highlights the importance of Aragón’s participation in Transfiere 2026 to strengthen its position in the realm of innovation. This forum not only allows for the sharing of experiences and knowledge but also opens the door to new alliances and collaboration opportunities with other agents in the scientific and technological ecosystem.

Participation in events of this magnitude reflects the commitment of the Government of Aragón to science and technology as fundamental pillars for economic development and regional competitiveness. The ability to generate synergies and identify opportunities is essential to continue progressing on the path of innovation.
