Aragón was presented in Tokyo as a cultural, gastronomic, and technological destination to leading Japanese tour operators. The Minister of Environment and Tourism, Manuel Blasco, and the Director General of Tourism, Jorge Moncada, led the presentation to around twenty agencies, tour operators, and specialized Japanese media.
The Government of Aragón held a tourism promotion event led by Manuel Blasco, Enrique Ruiz de Lera (Director of the Spanish Tourism Office), and Jorge Moncada. Blasco emphasized that «we invite all Japanese people to come to Aragón as a destination where they will find gastronomy, heritage, and nature,» highlighting that it will be one of the privileged destinations in 2026 to enjoy the total solar eclipse and to commemorate the anniversary of the Mudejar heritage of Aragón.

The meeting brought together notable tour operators and agencies such as World Compass, Kaze Travel, Eurasia Travel, Mikami Travel, Global Co., and Alpine Tour Service, as well as Miki Tourist and Mitsukoshi Isetan Travel. Specialized media outlets such as Wing Aviation Press, Switch Publishing, NHK Publishing, and the NHK Educational Corporation, affiliated with Japan’s leading public broadcast group, also participated.
Tourism proposal from Aragón
The presentation highlighted the UNESCO-recognized Mudejar heritage, the historical legacy of Zaragoza, Huesca, and Teruel, and the diverse landscapes of the Pyrenees and natural spaces like Ordesa and Monte Perdido. Gastronomy was emphasized as a distinguishing element, sustainable tourism, and the projection of Aragón as a technological and logistical hub.
According to the National Institute of Statistics, Aragón received 3,493 Japanese tourists in 2024 and 1,480 in the first half of 2025. In total, tourism from Japan to Spain reached 409,959 visitors in 2024, with a total expenditure of 1.164 billion euros and an average daily expenditure of 438.96 euros. The main travel periods are concentrated around the Golden Week (end of April to early May) and Silver Week (September).
