Aragón is preparing to showcase its culinary richness at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR 2026), with an institutional meal organized by the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Hospitality and Tourism of Aragón (CEHTA) and the Government of Aragón. This event aims to reinforce the region’s positioning as a destination of culinary excellence.
Event and High-Profile Participants
The special meal, scheduled for January 21, will gather prominent journalists and influencers from the fields of travel and gastronomy. Among the attendees are representatives from influential media outlets such as La Razón, Revista Traveling, Condé Nast Traveler, Hola! Viajes, and Guía Repsol, as well as key figures from the digital sphere specializing in tourism and gastronomy.
This gathering provides a unique platform for Aragón to showcase its gastronomic potential to a select audience, with the objective of capturing media attention and generating a positive impact on the region’s tourism sector.
An Exquisite Culinary Proposal
The event’s menu will be crafted by four leading figures in Aragonese cuisine: La Prensa de Zaragoza, Casa Rubén de Huesca, El Batán de Teruel, and La Bastilla. Three of these restaurants hold a Michelin Star and will present dishes that reinterpret local products such as black truffle, sturgeon caviar from Sarrión, Jamón de Teruel DOP, Ternasco de Aragón IGP, and Fuentes de Ebro onion DOP.
Under the label «Aragón, Sabor de Verdad,» the menu will blend tradition and innovation, using contemporary techniques to highlight the quality of Aragonese ingredients. The wine pairings will be handled by the region’s Denominations of Origin, completing a comprehensive culinary experience.
Economic and Tourist Impact
Gastronomic tourism is a key driver for Aragón’s economy, representing over 9% of the regional GDP and generating more than 41,000 direct jobs. The region attracts millions of visitors each year, interested in its natural, cultural, and culinary heritage.
According to the World Tourism Organization, gastronomic experiences motivate three out of every ten international travelers, positioning FITUR as a strategic showcase to consolidate Aragón as a top culinary destination.
The recognition of the quality of its chefs and the innovation in their creations have established Aragón as a gastronomic benchmark, capable of attracting talent, visitors, and media recognition on an international level.
