The Secretary of State for Defense, María Amparo Valcarce, will open the ninth edition of the Army 35 2E+I Forum in Toledo, a two-day gathering bringing together the Spanish Army, companies, associations, universities, and research centers. The opening will also be attended by the head of the Army Logistics Support Command, Lieutenant General Guillermo Ramírez Altozano.
The forum will be held on September 30 and October 1 at the Army Museum, the Infantry Academy, and the Alijares Maneuver and Firing Range. Organized by the Spanish Army through the Logistics Support Command, in collaboration with the Army Museum Foundation, it will be held under the theme Differentiated capabilities for the feasible Force.
Operational needs and demonstration at Alijares
During the first day, the Army will present its technological and operational requirements to industry. The program will focus in particular on the capabilities defined by NATO for the eastern flank under the Eastern Flank Deterrence Initiative and the rapid procurement concept of the NATO Rapid Adoption Plan.
The new feature of this edition will be a live demonstration at the Alijares Maneuver and Firing Range, where new corporate developments will be showcased. The event aims to identify lines of action linked to the Army 35 concept and convey specific requirements identified by operational units to companies and research centers.
The second day will be devoted to presentations of developments underway and solutions already available from companies, universities, and technology centers. The stated objective is to shorten the time between defining specific Spanish Army needs and incorporating capabilities that meet those requirements.
