Azcón encourages international investors to discover the Aragonese technological ecosystem
The President of the Government of Aragon, Jorge Azcón, encouraged international investors present at the DCD Connect Virginia 2025 forum on Tuesday to consider Aragon as a technological hub and to invest in technological infrastructures. His speech was part of the panel «The Virginia of Europe – Building the New Digital Infrastructure Hub in Aragon.»
Azcón highlighted various aspects of the Aragonese technological proposal: the role of PIGAs in accelerating investments, Aragon’s capacity to generate renewable energy, and talent development across multiple fields. He specifically mentioned the expansion of places in strategic degree programs at universities, training in artificial intelligence for incoming students, vocational training programs, and the policies of INAEM. Additionally, he presented the DAT Alierta project as the future epicenter of the Aragonese technological ecosystem.
Investment projections and objectives
The president acknowledged that investments related to data centers could reach up to 70 billion euros in the near future. He set as the main objective of the Government of Aragon to attract more companies that contribute to the technological ecosystem and generate employment. Azcón expressed his belief that the announced technological investments will attract new companies to Aragon to create jobs.
During the trip to Virginia, the Aragonese delegation seeks to learn how to enhance the success of this model. Among the proposed measures, Azcón emphasized the commitment to more efficient technologies in terms of both energy consumption and responsible water usage.
