Dolmen Editorial announces the reissue of the iconic comic character from the 1980s, Benito Boniato, in a restored comprehensive edition. This new publication, which involves the collaboration of the original creators, brothers Luis and Carlos Fresno, will be released on June 19, 2025, in Madrid, highlighting its cultural and nostalgic significance.
The new edition of Benito Boniato, set to launch on June 19, 2025, is the first of four volumes that compile the character’s stories from 1981 to 1982. This first volume includes two lengthy adventures and several short stories, along with unpublished material such as posters, original covers, and other graphic materials.
The restoration of the Benito Boniato comics was a complex process due to the loss of the originals. The editorial team conducted an «almost archaeological» reconstruction to stay true to the original material, with the active collaboration of the Fresno brothers, who assisted in selecting and reviewing the material.
The official presentation of the restored edition will take place on June 20, 2025, at 6:30 PM, at the Tomos y Grapas bookstore in Madrid. This event will feature the creators, Luis and Carlos Fresno, who will share details about the creation and restoration process of the comics.
