Calatorao Hosts the VII Celtiberia Meeting from September 19 to 21

Calatorao to Celebrate the VII Meeting of Celtiberian Literary and Creative Heritage from September 19 to 21 Focused on Comics and Traditional Games

The Aragonese town of Calatorao will host the VII Meeting of Celtiberian Literary and Creative Heritage on September 19, 20, and 21, an event firmly established as a cultural occasion to reclaim the heritage of Celtiberia. This seventh edition holds special significance as it takes place in a town whose origins trace back to the ancient Celtiberian city of Nertóbriga, connecting historical past with the cultural vitality of the present.

Exploration of Comics and Traditional Games at the Celtiberian Meeting

The 2025 meeting will revolve around two main thematic axes: comics and traditional games. This proposal aims to merge history, literature, and tradition, creating a bridge between Calatorao’s Celtiberian legacy and its current creative and cultural scene.

Institutional Support and Key Statements

Provincial Deputy Mercedes Trébol has emphasized the honor of presenting these events in Calatorao, «a land that roots its origins in the ancient Celtiberian Nertóbriga.» Trébol highlighted that the meeting seeks to «reclaim the strength of our history and the vitality of our present, united by a common heritage that deserves to be protected and transmitted.»

The deputy emphasized the lessons of the Celtiberian legacy: «its ability to resist adversity, against the world’s most powerful empire, Rome, but also its intelligence to adapt and transform reality.» This duality of resistance and change, according to Trébol, «continues to mark our character as Aragonese and Zaragoza residents.»

Commitment to Aragonese Cultural Heritage

The Provincial Council of Zaragoza maintains its commitment to defending cultural heritage as a way to honor historical legacy and project it into the future. To this end, it promotes aid plans in the area of cultural heritage and restoration that allow for the restoration of churches, castles, hermitages, fountains, bridges, and stately homes throughout the province.
