Novallas celebrates this Monday one of its most recognized traditions: The Walking Encierro, declared a Festival of Tourist Interest in Aragon. The day will bring together numerous local residents and visitors to accompany the herding of a dozen fighting bulls from the countryside to the town center, in a route that combines folklore, public participation, and cattle handling skills.
The encierro stands out for its unique character. Unlike other bullfighting festivities, here the bulls advance escorted by runners on foot, following a path that connects the outer pastures with the streets of the municipality. The public can follow the procession along the route, which has become one of the hallmarks of Novallas.
The Town Hall has prepared a special plan to ensure safety and the smooth running of the event, and reminds everyone that this is an act deeply rooted in the community, with massive participation and a festive atmosphere that extends throughout the day.
With “The Walking Encierro,” Novallas highlights a tradition that combines cultural heritage, local identity, and direct involvement from the residents, establishing itself as one of the most unique celebrations in the Aragonese festival calendar.
