The Government Council of Aragon has given the green light to the Enerth Investments project to build a biogas plant in Caspe, highlighting its economic, labor, and environmental impact. This initiative, backed by the Caspe City Council, promises to transform the local energy sector.
Million-Euro Investment and Execution Timeline
Enerth Investments has committed an investment of 38.8 million euros for this ambitious project. Construction is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2027, with the expectation that the plant will be operational by the last quarter of 2028. This timeline emphasizes long-term planning and a commitment to the sustainable development of the region.
The plant will process 280,000 tons of agri-food waste annually. This process will produce 13.3 million normal cubic meters of biomethane, enough to supply approximately 14,700 homes. Additionally, over 250,000 tons of digestate, a valuable by-product for agriculture, will be generated each year, underscoring the project’s circular approach.
Impact on Employment and Local Infrastructure
The construction of the plant will create 50 direct jobs and 100 indirect jobs, representing a significant boost for the local economy. Once operational, the plant will sustain 14 direct jobs and 30 indirect jobs, consolidating its role as an economic driver in Caspe.
Located on a plot of 134,355 square meters, the plant will feature advanced infrastructure, including a direct connection to the Enagas transport network. This integration will ensure efficient distribution of the biomethane produced, strengthening the energy infrastructure of the region.
