Helvetia will operate in Spain under a single brand from January 1, 2027, including in the bancassurance business previously associated with Caser. The decision marks the completion of a key phase in the integration of the two insurers, although the visual and operational transition will continue throughout 2027.
Helvetia to extend its brand to bancassurance following integration with Caser
The Board of Directors has approved the unification of the brand across all of the company’s distribution channels. The Helvetia brand will also identify bancassurance partnerships, one of Caser’s main historic assets, following its integration into the international Helvetia Group.
The move comes nearly a year after the merger between the two companies. During this period, the company has made progress in aligning its governance structures, capabilities, processes and operating models, with the aim of operating as an integrated organization.
Helvetia’s CEO in Spain, Juan Estallo, said Caser has built a relationship of trust with financial institutions over decades. According to Estallo, extending the Helvetia brand to bancassurance reflects the advanced stage of the integration and enables the group to showcase its international capabilities while retaining the knowledge and expertise Caser has developed in the Spanish market.
The transition from Caser to Helvetia will be gradual throughout 2027
The company said the rebranding will not alter its value proposition or customer service. The transition will be carried out progressively to ensure continuity in support and service for customers, brokers and financial institutions.
The first phase will include adapting the corporate identity across commercial materials, documentation, digital channels and materials for customers and distributors. In parallel, Helvetia will complete the alignment of its processes, tools and operational resources, alongside information, training and communication initiatives.
The business will operate fully under the Helvetia brand from January 1, 2027, although the rollout of the new identity is expected to be completed during that same year. Throughout 2026, the Helvetia and Caser brands will continue to coexist, while sales networks—particularly the agent network—will maintain their usual operations.
Ibercaja and Unicaja back Helvetia’s single-brand strategy in Spain
Long-standing partners Ibercaja and Unicaja, which remain shareholders and strategic partners, support the shift toward a single identity. Caser, founded in 1942 as Caja de Seguros Reunidos, will thus gradually give way to the Helvetia brand across all distribution channels.
The integration is also advancing at the corporate level. The General Shareholders’ Meeting approved the change in Helvetia Caser’s corporate name on September 30. Once the procedures with the relevant authorities have been completed, the company will be renamed Helvetia Corporate Insurance & Services de Seguros y Reaseguros, S.A.
Helvetia Caser has more than 6,000 professionals, a network of 5,300 brokers, 747 agent offices and 10,000 points of sale. The company generates more than €2 billion in premiums and is part of the Helvetia Baloise Group, which operates in eight European markets and employs more than 20,000 people.
