Japan to be Guest Country at The Wave 2026 in Zaragoza

Japan will participate as a guest country in the third edition of The Wave, the technology conference that will take place in Zaragoza from April 14 to 16, 2026. The Vice President of Aragon, Mar Vaquero, confirmed this invitation during her stay in Japan for the Universal Exhibition in Osaka.

As a guest country, Japan will have a specific exhibition area and presentations from prominent Japanese technology companies. Asian companies will be able to showcase content from the technology sector and participate in talks over the three days of the event. The second edition in 2025 brought together 15,000 attendees, over 250 speakers, and major global companies in Zaragoza.

The confirmation of the invitation was made by Vice President Mar Vaquero during her stay in Japan for the Universal Exhibition in Osaka. The Aragonese delegation includes the Councilor for Environment and Tourism, Manuel Blasco, the General Director of Tourism and Hospitality, Jorge Moncada, and the Manager of Aragon Exterior, Javier Camo. Last Wednesday, Aragon celebrated its honor day at the Spain Pavilion of the Osaka Exhibition.

Business Meetings and Cooperation

During the week, the Aragonese delegation held working meetings with global technology companies based in Japan, such as NTT Data and SoftBank Group, in their joint venture with BTS, a company of Aragonese origin based in Zaragoza with a solid presence in Japan. A coordinated meeting was also held with the Spanish Tourism Office in Tokyo and promotional actions for Aragonese foods such as Teruel ham. A business meeting was recently held at the Spanish Embassy in Japan, and the companies participating in these meetings will be considered for participation in The Wave 2026.
