The Zaragoza artist Lola Royo is exhibiting her show Skewed Visions until November 9 in the exhibition hall of the Torreón Fortea, as part of the CERCO 2025 festival. The exhibition brings together nearly twenty pieces that explore the human condition from a feminine perspective, navigating between reality and fantasy through various artistic languages.
Distinctive Elements of the Exhibit at Torreón Fortea
Ceramics are the highlight of the exhibit, although they coexist with various materials such as metals, wood, and methacrylate. The works create landscapes where nature is interwoven with human traces, juxtaposing the dreamed with the reflection of realities. Each piece constitutes a narrative fragment that invites visual dialogue with the audience, allowing for unique and individual interpretations.
The pieces traverse between classical visual references, such as busts reminiscent of Greek art or porcelain boxes, and contemporary elements drawn from comics or pop art. The contrast between the black and white of some works contrasts with the explosion of color in others, especially in collages that draw from surrealist sources.
The Narrative Behind Skewed Visions
Skewed Visions blends lived realities that overlap without apparent coherence, seeking a logic that explains identity and gives meaning to existence. The works form a puzzle that constantly changes its structure, showcasing iconography that combines the past with the present and the dreamlike with the real.
The exhibition proposes a journey through different years of the artist’s career, where both a formal and ethical evolution in her way of creating and perceiving is observed.
