The Government of Aragón, through the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, has initiated the bidding process for the restoration of the castle tower in La Hoz de la Vieja, with a budget of €101,171.67 and an execution period of three months.
The tower, which is in a state of severe deterioration, is located at the crest of a hillside at an altitude of 996 meters, dominating the surroundings. The structural damage includes significant issues with the walls and inadequate drainage for rainwater, compromising the stability of the building.
The project, designed by architects José María Sanz Zaragoza and Javier Sanz Sabugo, includes a restoration that will be carried out in five levels, from the foundation to the battlements. Additionally, archaeological studies and material analyses necessary for the proper execution of the works will be conducted.
The Department of Education, Culture, and Sport has established a budget of €101,171.67, VAT included, for these works, which will be financed from the budget for 2025. Interested companies have until July 21 to submit their bids to participate in the tender.
