More than 450 teachers address the rollout of Escuela 4.0 in Aragon

The event, linked to the Código Escuela 4.0 program, was held both in person and online at teacher training centers across the three provinces. The gathering brought together COFOTAP coordinators, who are responsible for promoting the use of educational technologies at their respective schools.

The first working session of the 2026/27 academic year focused on the rollout of Escuela 4.0, the exchange of experiences among teachers, and the design of STEAM-based training initiatives integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.

The seminar also addressed the responsible use of technology in the classroom and its meaningful pedagogical integration into the curriculum. Coordinators serve as catalysts within teaching staff bodies and promote training related to digital tools and skills.

COFOTAP coordinators oversee schools’ digital plans

The COFOTAP role is governed by Decree 166/2018 of September 18, in Articles 24, 25, and 26. Its responsibilities include coordinating the development and implementation of the School Digital Plan.

These teachers receive technical and pedagogical support from the ICT Advisory Services and the support platform of the Aragonese Center for Educational Technologies (CATEDU), while also regularly taking part in coordination sessions at teacher training centers.

Seminar held simultaneously at several teacher training centers

The session took place in Sabiñánigo, Huesca, Ejea de los Caballeros, Monzón, and La Almunia, as well as at the CP Juan de Lanuza in Zaragoza and the CP María de Ávila.

The initiative seeks to strengthen coordinators’ role in fostering computational thinking and encouraging early digital vocations within Aragon’s education system.
