The Ministry of Defense has opened 500 positions for voluntary reservists in the Armed Forces. The offer, published Oct. 5 in the Official State Gazette, is aimed at civilians and is part of the 2026 selection process.
The Army accounts for half of the positions, with 250. Another 92 are assigned to the Air and Space Force, 78 to the Navy and 80 to the Armed Forces’ Common Corps.
Interested applicants have 20 calendar days from the day after the call is published to request an appointment. The procedure must be completed through the Ministry of Defense’s Central Electronic Office. Appointments will be awarded based on each applicant’s final score and the order of preference indicated during the process.
The information provided by the Ministry does not specify the geographic and functional distribution of the positions. The specific openings and requirements for each are included in the call documentation published in the Official State Gazette.
Military training in 2027
Those who pass the selection process must complete a basic military training phase during 2027 at the facilities corresponding to each branch of the military. In the case of the Common Corps, officers will receive this training at the Naval Military Academy, while noncommissioned officers will train at the Navy’s Noncommissioned Officers Academy.
After this initial phase, selected candidates will undertake specific military training on the dates and under the conditions established for each position. The Ministry of Defense has made additional information available on its recruitment website and through the government’s General Access Point, as well as via the telephone number 913 089 798, available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
