ALDI strengthens its presence in Aragón with the opening of three new supermarkets in 2026, consolidating its expansion in the region. This move is part of a national growth plan that foresees the inauguration of 40 new stores in Spain, highlighting the strategic importance of Aragón in its distribution network.
Current Presence and Expansion in Aragón
Currently, ALDI operates in several locations in Aragón, including Teruel, Barbastro, and Monzón in Huesca, as well as Calatayud and two locations in Zaragoza. The most recent opening took place in October 2025 in the Valdespartera neighborhood of Zaragoza. With the addition of the new stores, the chain aims to strengthen its presence in the province of Zaragoza, where it already has more than 6,100 square meters of retail space.
National Growth Projections
On a national level, ALDI plans to open 40 new supermarkets in 2026, with a particular focus on Catalonia, Andalusia, the Community of Madrid, and the Valencia Community. The expansion will also reach the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, the Region of Murcia, the Basque Country, and Cantabria. In 2025, the chain added 33 stores, reaching a total of 496 supermarkets, positioning it as the supermarket chain with the highest growth in terms of customers over the past four years.
Business Model Focused on Savings
ALDI’s business model is characterized by offering quality products at competitive prices, with 90% of its assortment made up of private labels and a focus on fresh products of national origin. This approach allows customers to save up to 20 euros per week compared to the industry average. Between January and November 2025, ALDI reduced the prices of over 930 products and launched weekly offers in all its supermarkets in Spain.
With 496 supermarkets and 8 million customers in Spain, ALDI is solidifying its position as a reliable option for consumers, reinforcing its presence in the Spanish market and its commitment to sustainable growth and customer satisfaction.
