D.O. Cariñena organizes a day on the opportunities of organic wines
The Denomination of Origin Cariñena will hold an informative session next Monday focused on the potential and opportunities offered by organic production wines. The free entry event will take place at the Cariñena Wine Museum and will feature the participation of industry experts.
The day «Viticulture and Organic Wines» will begin at 11:00 AM with a presentation by Pedro Fatás, manager of the Aragonese Committee on Organic Agriculture, who will discuss the «Principles and Benefits of Organic Agriculture». At 11:40 AM, Juan Carlos Sancha, PhD in Viticulture and Oenology from the University of La Rioja, will deliver a lecture titled «Viticulture and Organic Wines, Opportunities and Differentiation».
Juan Carlos Sancha coordinates the master’s program in Viticulture and Oenology at the University of La Rioja, works as a wine consultant for various wineries, and owns a vineyard. His experience includes over a thousand conferences given worldwide, and he has received several awards for his promotion of organic viticulture.
The speakers will address the general aspects of organic production, the characteristics and benefits of products certified with this label, as well as specific production methods. The program will particularly focus on the opportunities presented by this sector in a context where organic food is seeing increasing demand in the international market.
Tasting and Organization
The session will conclude at 12:40 PM with a tasting of organic wines. The event is organized jointly by the Denomination of Origin Cariñena and Aragón Ecológico, as part of the actions under the European Union’s Rural Development Program.
