The Fundación Atención Temprana serves over 3,000 children in 23 centers across Aragón
The Fundación Atención Temprana celebrates the Day of Early Attention on June 16, highlighting its commitment to the children and adolescents of Aragón. The organization, created in 2003, has established a specialized care network that continues to expand, particularly in rural areas.
The FAT has a team of nearly 200 professionals who carry out their activities through a well-established territorial network. In addition to three centers in Zaragoza city (Actur, Parque Roma, and Moncasí), the Foundation operates in 20 other locations, including Alcañiz, Andorra, Borja, Belchite, Calatayud, Caspe, Daroca, Ejea, Tarazona, Utebo, and Zuera, among others.
The organization is composed of the Fundación Ramón Rey Ardid, Plena Inclusión Aragón, and professionals from the Miguel Servet Children’s Hospital.
Pilar Castillón, manager of the Foundation, emphasizes that «early intervention can change a child’s life and their environment. Early detection and family support are essential.» The organization aims to «continue expanding resources to meet the growing needs of the child and adolescent population, regardless of their place of residence.»
Specialized care programs
The foundation develops four main lines of work:
- Early Attention (0 to 6 years): Provides comprehensive care for children with developmental difficulties.
- Child Care Service (from 6 years): Offers specialized interventions for learning difficulties, behavior, and socialization.
- Adolescent Care Program: Focused on mental health, self-harm, addictions, and eating disorders, integrating actions in educational centers.
- PlanTEA: Provides individualized and group support for children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families.
Among the highlighted projects is the Stimulation in Municipal Nursery Schools, which allows for early detection in the educational environment. Initiated in Caspe, the program is present in municipalities such as Alhama de Aragón, Ariza, Maluenda, Sádaba, and Borja.
The Itinerant Early Attention Teams bring services closer to families in towns like Daroca, Utrillas, La Puebla de Alfindén, Belchite, and Andorra. This initiative is co-funded by the European Social Fund Plus (40%) and the Government of Aragón (60%).
On Sunday, June 15, the XII 7K Fundación Atención Temprana will take place at the Parque Grande José Antonio Labordeta starting at 9:30 AM. The event includes a 7K race for those over 14 years old, a non-competitive walk for all ages, and school tests adapted for children born from 2012 onwards.
