The Aragonese Employment Institute (INAEM) has launched a new grant program for training aimed at employed workers, with a budget of €1 million. This initiative, published in the Official Bulletin of Aragon, seeks to enhance the professional qualifications and adaptability of Aragonese employees to the labor market.
Call for Applications and Training Objectives
The call, backed by the Department of Economy, Competitiveness, and Employment, funds Professional Training for Employment courses. These courses are designed to provide professional certificates or accumulative partial modules, allowing workers to officially certify their competencies. The budget of €1 million is evenly divided between transversal and sectoral programs, and it is funded by the Ministry of Education through the Sectoral Conference on the System of Qualifications and Professional Training for Employment.
The primary objective of this initiative is to facilitate workers in updating their knowledge and improving their professional skills. The training is characterized by its longer duration, distinguishing it from other training actions for employed individuals, as it is linked to the attainment of professional certificates.
Remote Learning and Priority Sectors
One of the notable features of this call is its remote learning format, which provides flexibility for participants to balance the courses with their work activities. The programs can be transversal, aimed at competencies useful across various sectors, or sector-specific, focusing on specific qualification needs in sectors such as Agriculture, Food Industries, Commerce, Marketing, Logistics, Metal, Hospitality, Tourism, Transportation, and Social Services.
Training entities, both public and private, accredited to teach the training specialties, can apply for these grants. Applications must be submitted electronically within ten business days from the publication of the call in the Official Bulletin of Aragon.
Target Audience and Priorities of the Call
The courses are primarily aimed at employed workers, who must represent at least 70% of the total participants. However, the participation of unemployed individuals is also allowed, up to a maximum of 30%. Priority will be given to groups such as those affected by temporary employment regulation files, young people up to 35 years old, women, low-skilled individuals, workers from SMEs, people with disabilities, and victims of gender-based violence or terrorism.
In 2025, 18,001 individuals completed courses within the INAEM training program for the employed, with a notable 57.4% of participants being women. These figures highlight the importance of continuous training in the active employment policies of the Government of Aragon, which aims to enhance the qualifications of the working population.
