Inserta Empleo is the entity of Fundación ONCE specialized in the training, guidance, and labor intermediation of people with disabilities. Our role within the Grupo Social ONCE is to support people with any type of disability in accessing employment, help them improve their qualifications through training, and work with companies through our awareness-raising and labor intermediation services to ensure that inclusion is real and effective.
The first thing we try to offer is trust.
What we detect is a very diverse reality, but with some common traits. There are well-prepared young people who face more obstacles than others in accessing their first opportunity. The unemployment rate among young people with disabilities is 59.3% compared to 34.6% for young people without disabilities. The data shows a significant structural gap in employment and activity, which obliges us to strengthen specific support.
Formal equality does not always translate into real equality. Aragón faces specific challenges such as territorial dispersion and difficult access to specialized resources, a labor market that demands more technical and digital skills, and a gender perspective.
When a company understands that diversity adds value, hiring stops being seen as a difficulty and begins to be viewed as an opportunity.
We do not work with standard solutions. Each young person needs a different pathway. Our difference lies in the comprehensive vision: guidance, training, contact with companies, follow-up, and continued support.
Training remains a decisive lever. We are promoting programs linked to digital skills, technology professions, transversal skills, active job searching, certified language competencies, and training adapted to in-demand sectors.
We achieve this by maintaining a constant relationship with the business sector. We listen to what profiles companies demand and which skills they value most.
In Aragón, we are seeing opportunities especially in logistics and transportation, administrative and customer service, socio-health services, and profiles related to digitalization and ICT.
Real inclusion is progressing. There are more companies that are aware and committed, although prejudices and a lack of knowledge about disabilities persist.
Because formal equality does not always translate into real equality.
Scholarships and entrepreneurship are important because not all pathways need to be linear. Scholarships allow disabilities not to be a barrier to accessing higher education. Programs like Por Talento Emprende expand possibilities and allow each person to find their way.
Por Talento has become a key tool for bringing job, training, and entrepreneurship opportunities closer to young people, allowing them to register, search for jobs, and access training more easily.
There are many stories of transformation that begin with doubts and, after a process of guidance and training, end up finding employment and greater autonomy.
I would tell them not to give up trying and not to think they have to walk this path alone. There is talent, capability, and opportunities, but there are also resources and professionals willing to accompany them.
