San Jorge University Welcomes Over 900 New Undergraduate Students at Its Welcome Day
The San Jorge University held a welcome day yesterday for more than 900 new students who will study one of the 26 degrees and 11 dual degrees offered at the Zaragoza institution. In total, over 5,100 students will be enrolled this academic year in one of the university’s academic programs, which also include eight master’s degrees, proprietary degrees, and doctoral programs.
Introduction of the First Year of Medicine
Among the students are 100 first-year students of the Medicine degree, who had the opportunity to tour the campus and specialized facilities for their practical training. The new facilities include a dissection room that complements the Advanced Clinical Skills Space, equipped with emergency boxes, ICU, operating room, and consultation room for high-fidelity clinical simulation. Medical students also explored laboratories with the latest technology and innovative spaces such as the Anatomage Digital Dissection Table for the study of human anatomy.
Significant International Presence
This week, USJ welcomed 109 international students on Erasmus mobility and non-EU students, along with 11 students from SICUE mobility of Spanish universities. The international students come from 58 partner universities located in 21 different countries, including Germany, Austria, Belgium, Italy, the United States, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, and the United Kingdom, among others. For the officially starting academic year, San Jorge University will receive a total of 1,300 new students: over 900 new undergraduate students, around 200 studying a master’s degree, more than 50 pursuing a proprietary degree, and nearly 200 beginning a program at USJ Senior. As a new initiative, the university is launching the Universitary Program for Socio-Labor Inclusion USJ DIVERSA, aimed at individuals with intellectual disabilities, which is co-financed by the European Social Fund+ and Fundación ONCE. This program begins its first edition with all 18 spots filled.
Expansion of the Academic Offer
This academic year, the university is launching the first edition of the Master’s in Biomechanics of Human Locomotion, aimed at training students in the latest industry trends for designing and implementing biomechanical assessments. Notable new proprietary degrees include the Expert Degree in Business Analytics & Strategic Data Management and the Course in Intelligence and Geostrategy in International Markets. The University Specialization Diploma in Sports Communication will also be introduced. For the 2026-2027 academic year, whose admission process will commence in October, a new degree in Social Education will be added, enhancing the offerings in the Education area alongside existing degrees in Early Childhood and Primary Education.
This academic year is characterized by the inauguration of new spaces dedicated to practical training and teaching methodologies based on experiential learning. In the Student Building, there is the Learning Lab, which consists of three new open, modular, and flexible classrooms. Students can also utilize the Student Hub, an informal learning environment designed as a multipurpose area for cooperative work and leisure.
