The Vice President of the Government of Aragón and Minister of the Presidency, Economy, and Justice, Mar Vaquero, emphasized today the strategic relevance of industrial parks in the economic shaping of rural areas. During her visit to the La Cañamera industrial park in Cella, she announced an investment of 1.8 million euros to improve these infrastructures in seven municipalities in Teruel.
Strengthening the rural productive fabric
Vaquero highlighted that these spaces are “the heart of economic activity and employment in many municipalities,” especially in rural areas where they act as a motor for population retention and opportunity generation. She stressed the importance of providing them with connectivity, modern services, and efficient management to attract investments and facilitate business growth.
Beneficiary municipalities and objectives
The funds, derived from the surplus of the Teruel Investment Fund (FITE) for 2022, will be distributed among Andorra, Calanda, Muniesa, Valderrobres, Villarroya de los Pinares, Rubielos de Mora, and Alloza. The total amount, 1,803,948.85 euros, will be allocated to urbanizing, paving, and equipping industrial parks to strengthen the local business fabric.
The deadline for executing and justifying the projects extends from January 1, 2022, to December 1, 2025.
Cella: a pilot case of transformation
The visit included a tour of the La Cañamera industrial park, where in 2024 works were already carried out at a cost of 487,157.43 euros in a first phase of urbanization. Currently, work is underway to expand the space, improve lighting, and supply, with the goal of attracting more companies and promoting local development.
The Mayor of Cella, Carmen Pobo, emphasized the importance of offering job opportunities close to home so that young people choose to stay, thus fostering their ties to the community.
